Mediterranean food and wine
And so another Christmas is upon us and thoughts turn to what is becoming a regular, informal, food and wine matching evening. This year, rather than traipsing around supermarkets and delis in search of dainty morsels to excite and challenge your tastebuds, we have enlisted the services of a professional caterer.
France and Italy will be the focus of attention with the menu selection as below:
Selection of French and Italian Charcuterie Beaujolais, Montepulciano d'Abruzzo
Grilled courgettes, peppers and aubergines with pesto Beaujolais, Tokay Pinot Gris, Chablis
Crostini with white bean, truffle oil and parmesan Valpolicella, Burgundy, Barbera, Sauvignon / Chablis
Risotto croquettes with sun dried tomato and parmesan Sauvignon, Chianti
Salmon skewers with cherry tomato and oregano Nero d'Avola
Pork rillette and onion marmalade on garlic toast Chinon, Beaujolais, Pinot Blanc, Sauvignon
Roast chicken leg with garlic and thyme Semillon/Sauvignon - Graves, Beaujolais, Chablis, Montepulciano d'Abruzzo
Mixed leaves with french dressing
Catering is provided with panache by Parties 4u
Matching wines to food is a very subjective affair but nevertheless we'll make a stab at it with a range of wines from France and Italy that should match at least one of the dishes and with luck .. More than that ! The list of wines above is our starting suggestions - but subject to review before the great night.
