Northern Spain presented by Quentin Sadler

Quentin Sadler Northern Spain is our destination this month. Our guide is gourmet traveller and wine guru Quentin Sadler.

Sitting at the foot of the Cantabria mountains, the vineyards of the Rioja Alavesa slope gently down to the bank of the river Ebro and produce the rich and expressive wines with which we are all familiar.

Further north, overlooking the Atlantic are the vineyards of Txakoli, linked from time immemorial to the culture of the Basque people. The young, fresh and fruity personality of these wines provide a perfect counterpoint to the maritime cuisine. Join us to hear more, delivered in Quentin’s own inimitable style.

Quentin has travelled widely around this region seeking out these and other “hidden gems” of wine, food, history and culture. Despite his apparent youth, he has spent almost 20 years in the wine trade. In that time he has done most things, managing wine shops, selling to the trade, hotels and restaurants, buying, marketing and a lot of tasting. He has been self employed since 1995 and loves introducing people to new and exciting wines as well as finding new audiences for his jokes and stories.
