Charlemagne Wine Club - 2014 Tastings

15th September 2014

Six States of Australia with Paul Mapplebeck.

As we know, Paul Mapplebeck is an inveterate collector of wines and a great fan of Australia.
For this tasting he has put together wines from producers in 6 of the 7 Australian States, with representatives from the Hunter Valley, Eden Valley, Margaret River, Mornington Peninsula, Tasmania and the High Granite Belt of Queensland. Unfortunately, or maybe not, wines from Alice Springs in the Northern Territory are a little difficult to get hold of here!
This is certainly a "first" for Charlemagne. Australian wine styles are changing swiftly and Paul will show these as sets of "new look" wines. The average alcohol of the 4 whites is 12.5%, and of the first 4 reds is 13.5%. However, for those who like the older, fuller style and to keep Paul (and Joyce) happy the final red is a fruity monster from Jim Barry in the Clare Valley.
Not an evening to miss!
