Monday 21st October: David Carter. An eclectic selection of classic wines from classic producers and classic regions.
October’s tasting features an eclectic selection of classic wines from classic producers and classic regions. Currently in the starting blocks representing France are a Blanc de Blancs Champagne from Amyot, a grower in the Côte des Bar and probably, Château Angludet, a Bordeaux from the commune of Margaux. Spain will contribute a taste of Tempranillo in a special Rioja Reserva. It’s been a while since we’ve tasted a California Zinfandel so this is your opportunity to try one, from iconic producer Ridge vineyards. New Zealand’s offering is an award winning Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. Of course the legendary Chateau Musar from Lebanon cannot be ignored – regrettably it’s not the superb 1996 bottle which I enjoyed recently but a more recent vintage. What to show from Germany? It might be a Riesling spätlese from the Mosel or a dry Rheingau Riesling aged “sur lie” until ready.
What other wines might be featured? Come along and discover .
There will be more!
