The summer break Thank you to everyone who attended last night’s walk-around tasting. We enjoyed some lovely wines and a fine spread of foods to accompany them which David put together. It was great to see you all. We’re off now to enjoy July and August, hopefully in the sunshine. We will return in September

With summer on the horizon (perhaps!), our June tasting will aspire to reflect those holiday memories of sitting in the hills among the fruit groves, or relaxing by the shore of the Mediterranean with a nice glass of something refreshing and a full plate of local delicacies. Sorry, Charlemagne Wine Club will not be able to have a tasting in May, as David and Nick are both unavailable.

Not long until our next tasting and we have some treats in store from some of the finest producers in Australia. We’ll be sniffing out the Shiraz, craving the Cabernet and running up the flag for Riesling. We’ll taste the difference between regions and how age affects what’s in the bottle. It’ll be fun. This

Just in case you haven’t received Nick’s email, our February tasting will now become our March 18th tasting. Renovations at the Forester have taken longer than expected and the pub will not be opening until early March. We hope to see you then for a tasting of some fabulous mature Châteauneuf-du-Pape wines.
