2025 – November: Northern Tuscany and Liguria

Presented by Nick Forth

Monday 17 November Start: 8pm
Upstairs at The Forester, 2 Leighton Road, W13 9EP

The wines of Northern Tuscany and Liguria are much less well-known and appreciated than the famous wines from Chianti, Montalcino and Montepulciano, and the Super-Tuscans of the Maremma, but there are some lovely wines to be found there. Produced not only from international varieties including Pinot Noir and Merlot, wines made from local grapes like Albarola, Colorino and Vermentino Nero show a real sense of place and terroir.
Following a recent visit to the area, Nick returned with a car load of wines from four producers which reveal the quality and variety on offer. Ranging from an estate whose wines have been recognised by luminaries such as Jancis Robinson and the Decanter wine awards, to a small family-run concern whose wines rarely find their way out of the area, he will be showing the quality and value that can be found in this beautiful part of Italy.
With styles ranging from sparkling through white, rose and red, there should be something for everybody!
Still at the excellent price of £25 payable on the door, cash preferred . Bookings, as usual, via email.

In the pipeline: tastings from Ealing Wine Cellars, Czech wines, and wines from Slovakia. If you have any other regions, grapes, producers you’d like to taste …. let us know.
